Dear readers,
Over the past several months, the editorial team of the Methodist DeBakey Cardiovascular Journal has been hard at work reshaping the Journal’s online presence and preparing for the launch of a new, year-round, continuous-publication online case reports issue. I’m pleased to announce that the case reports issue is now live. Please visit https://journal.houstonmethodist.org and click on the “Special Collections” option under the Content menu tab to find a repository of all new case reports, Cases of the Month, and articles with CME credit available.
In conversations with readers and authors, one of the most consistent comments over the years has been that our traditional quarterly format, wherein we published around two cases per issue, limited our ability to rapidly publish new and intriguing cases. We listened, and from now on cases will be published year-round so that readers can enjoy unique and informative case reports between our quarterly review issues.
Thus, we invite our readers to submit their case reports and Case of the Month manuscripts on our website. Unusual, visually interesting (figures and videos are encouraged), and informative cases will have highest priority for peer review. We also welcome artists and poets to submit their art and poetry for our quarterly humanities sections.
As always, I thank you for your continued support of the Methodist DeBakey Cardiovascular Journal and look forward to receiving your feedback as we constantly strive to improve our publication. If you have not already subscribed to receive free copies of the print or digital editions, please do so at https://bit.ly/mdcvj-subscribe.
